Are you looking to meet new people as well as help others in your community?

Then Volunteer Centre Wiltshire can help. Whether you’ve got a few hours a month or a day a week there’s a volunteering opportunity out there to suit you.

One such volunteer said, “Volunteering has given routine and reason to my days and I’m enjoying getting out, meeting people, feeling useful and being appreciated.”

Here are just a few opportunities within the local area:

Volunteer Co-ordinator: Friends of Biss Meadows Country Park are ideally looking for a volunteer who can plan and match specific activities to their wide range of volunteers.

Tasks include occasionally touring the country park, liaising with the council’s countryside senior ranger  and community organisations, collecting and checking safety of tools, undertaking risk assessments/ensuring a suitably qualified first aider is in attendance  when required. Although not essential you are invited to attend committee meetings once every two months, or submit a short report of tasks achieved.

Waste Prevention Volunteers: Wiltshire Wildlife Trust are working in partnership with Wiltshire Council to recruit waste prevention volunteers who will work within their own communities helping householders to cut down on waste.

Wiltshire On-Line Parish Clerks: Wiltshire On-Line Parish Clerks Project are looking for volunteers to adopt a Wiltshire parish on a website and help to transcribe records for that parish from several sources. Answering queries about the parish or directing the person to the right area. Online Library Volunteer: Seeing Ear are looking for volunteers to volunteer from home and in their own free time, to help them add books to their online library for blind and print disabled members of the community.
