Cock and Bull Festival 2016 brought to you by Jamie’s Farm

Now in its 6th year, the Cock and Bull Festival brings you a unique festival experience.

Volunteer led, 100% profit to charity, local food suppliers, live music full of heart and soul, exciting and current talks and workshops and a healthy dose of farm related puns! The festival is set in the middle of an ancient working farm, surrounded by beautiful countryside and just a few miles outside of Bath.

The Cock and Bull is run by and for Jamie’s Farm – a fantastic charity based in Box, that transforms the lives of vulnerable urban children, at risk of social and academic exclusion, through a unique combination of ‘farming, family and therapy’ during a short stay residential and follow up programme.

To date they have worked with 2,750 young people and demonstrated significant improvements in children’s self-esteem, fewer exclusions and greater re-engagement with academic life. 100% of profits from the Cock and Bull go directly to Jamie’s Farm and supports their valuable work.

A weekend with a great, relaxed, community feel, Cock and Bull caters for all ages – you can get involved as much or as little as you like! Here are just some of the things that have been favourites in previous years:

– Local produce and large portions at reasonable prices;

– Fancy dress DIY sessions to prepare for the famous Saturday night procession;

– Camping in beautiful surroundings;

– Juicy Sunday debates previously including “What the big food companies don’t want you to know” and “It will never be possible to tackle inequality of opportunity until private schools are abolished”;

– Blacksmith ‘have a go’ sessions;

– Local butcher demos with meat reared on Jamie’s Farm;

– Fire lighting, spoon carving, swiss arrow making workshops;

– A ‘Healing Space’: a quiet place to recharge, relax and learn new skills;

– Farmer Olympics;

– And much more!

So, if delicious local food, soulful and eclectic music and a chilled out vibe sounds like your perfect weekend, the organisers can’t wait to see you there! With only 800 tickets available, they really do believe small is beautiful! But don’t take their word for it – buy yourself a ticket.

One visitor to last year’s festival said, “Our second year and we love it… great vibe, original acts – it just has an atmosphere of optimism, kindness and fun that we love. Many ages, many styles and real eclectic mix of people. Well done! We will be back.”
