Seend will be holding its 67th Flower Show on the 13th of August in the Community Centre on Rusty Lane.
The Seend Fete is being held on the adjoining Lye Field so you can enjoy two grand spectacles in the same area.
The Flower Show is an open event so entries are invited from all who may be interested in showing the results of their hard work in the garden, kitchen, and house.
There are large sections for vegetables, fruit, flowers, natural and arranged, and pot plants with additional sections for home produce, handicrafts, and photography. There are also two sections for children ages up to 8 years-old and for 9 to 12 year-olds.
There will be cups and certificates galore! There is a grand trophy for Best Exhibit in Show; the Altfield Bowl generously presented by the sponsor Altfield. Altfield has also presented the Altfield Cup for Most Points in the Home Produce classes.
There is a single exhibitor fee of £2 for an unlimited number of entries and children’s entries are free.
If you are just a spectator this year maybe you’ll be inspired to put an entry in next year. Come and say hello to any show committee member, especially if you would like to be involved in helping to stage next year’s show.
The show programme can be seen at www.seendflowershow.org.uk from which the entries schedules and entry form can be downloaded. If you have any problems obtaining a schedule or entry form or have a question contact the Show Secretary at 01380 827137.
