Schoolboy braves the shave for charity

AMELKSHAM schoolboy has shaved off all his hair to raise money for charity.

Thirteen-year old Cameron Pearce has raised £260 by losing all his hair for Macmillan Cancer Support, taking part in their national event ‘Brave the Shave’.

Cameron was inspired to organise the fundraiser after close family members were affected by cancer. “I wanted to give something back,” said Cameron.

‘My parents were surprised when I told them my plan as I love my hair.

“This is the first time I have done something like this and I reckon it’s one of the highlights of my life so far.”

Proud parent Graham Pearce said, “Cameron would like to thank Shaun Heathcote from Union Street Barbers for giving up his time to shave his head and everyone for their generosity that sponsored him to raise £260 towards this worthwhile cause.”

Now on his summer break from school, Cameron is looking forward to going on holiday with his family. Let’s hope he remembers to put some sunscreen on his new shiny head!
