Your new-look Melksham News goes full colour!

A BRIGHT new era begins this issue with your new-look Melksham News, printed in full colour for the first time.

After 36 years in black and white, your favourite  free fortnightly newspaper is now in full colour, bringing all your local news, photographs and adverts to life in glorious colour.

Melksham News has been running since 1981 and has sister newspapers in Westbury (White Horse News, published since 1991) and Frome (Frome Times, published since 1998); all under the same family-owned company, Wiltshire Publications Ltd, based in Melksham Market Place.

In August 2000, the company bought its own web offset printing press, which is based in Holt, where over 37,000 copies of all three papers have been printed at the premises every fortnight (13,700+ copies of Melksham News; 10,000+ copies of White Horse News; and 13,900+ copies of Frome Times).

Owners of the company, Ian and Susan Drew, have decided now is the time to enter the world of colour and whilst their own printing press will cease production, they’re sure that local advertisers and their loyal readers will enjoy the new-look newspaper. The papers will now be printed by Mortons, one of the country’s leading newspaper printers on a state-of-the-art press.

“Your Melksham News will still be packed full of local news – news about Melksham, its schools, clubs, organisations and people – but now with the added impact of colour,” said Ian Drew, owner/editor of Melksham News.

“We are really excited about the new-look paper. We hope it will help cement our place at the heart of the Melksham community and give readers one more reason to enjoy their local newspaper.
