Celebrating a decade of success at Get it Cleared

MELKSHAM house waste clearance business Get It Cleared is celebrating 10 years of business serving the Melksham community and the surrounding area.

Get It Cleared was first set up by owner, Martin Bell, in 2007. At that time Martin worked alone, collecting refuse and recycling in a van.

Ten years later, Get It Cleared now boasts modern purpose-built vehicles, a shop premises and a van hire service. “I want to say a big thank you to everyone for supporting us,” said Martin. “I have a great team at Get It Cleared and I am really happy with how the business has grown and developed over the years. It’s been a pleasure offering this service to the community. Here’s to the next 10 years!”

To celebrate, the team hosted a 10th anniversary party to raise money for the breast cancer unit at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

“We raised £346 for the RUH. I chose the breast cancer unit as my mum was diagnosed with it. She is now making a good recovery,” said martin.

“The day was great success. We had a big red fun bus for the kids and a raffle to help raise the money.

“We really enjoyed hosting this event, so much so, we are planning to do it all again next year,” added Martin.

About the new services that have recently been added to the offer of Get It Cleared, Martin said, “We introduced Get It Hired to the business last year, providing a van rental service to the community.

“There are single day rates and weekend rates available, as well as 10% off Monday to Friday. People can also use furniture or goods that they are wanting to get rid of to off-set against the cost of the hire of the van.

“We now also supply brand new and factory graded white goods in our shop with a 12-month warranty.”

The white goods on offer can be found in the Get It Cleared shop, which also  provides an opportunity for people to buy recycled or unwanted house clearance items at low prices.

Unwanted items can also be brought to the shop where a quote can be given to turn your goods to cash.

The Get it Cleared shop can be found on New Broughton Road in Melksham, and is open from 9.30am – 5pm on Tuesday and Friday, 9am – 5pm on Wednesday and Saturday, 9.30am – 1.30pm on Thursday. (Closed Monday and Sunday).

At the heart of the 10-year old business is the service that got it all started, the waste disposal service. Get It Cleared offers domestic, commercial, garden waste, and white goods disposal services, as well as house clearances.

Martin and the team pride themselves on being quicker and more efficient than skip hire, as well as better for the environment; they will sort the rubbish to recycle what they can. “We recycle around 80% of the stuff that we collect,” said Daylan.
