Atworth Camera Club held its second annual exhibition on 12th May, at which club members were able to showcase their work.
The club reports, “There were many very positive comments from visitors to the exhibition who remarked not only on the quality of the images on display, but also on the broad spectrum of photographic styles that were on view.
“The regular monthly meeting was held on Monday 28th May at which Alan Lee gave a talk on composition, covering topics such as the rule of thirds, colour, viewpoint, leading lines, etc. This was illustrated by many images taken from his own collection and which were used to demonstrate both good examples that supported the guidance and bad ones where things had gone wrong.
“This was followed by members showing their images on the subject of street photography, which was the club’s theme for the season. A wide variety of images were displayed showing how different interpretations of the subject are possible.
“The club meets in the Atworth Village Hall & Institute at 7.30pm on the last Monday of each month and the fee of £2 includes refreshments. So if you are interested in photography, would like to improve your results or share your experiences with others, then do come and join us, all are welcome.
“The programme for the club’s forthcoming meetings is as follows:
• June 25th “My Photographic Journey” by Kate who is doing a degree in photography at ICA
Followed by a print critique for members’ work by Derek Mason
• July 30th “Hidden Atworth” by David Webb. A walk around Atworth led by David starting in Post Office Lane at David’s house
The club’s theme for the coming season will be “Something Moving” and members will be able to share their results at a later meeting.
