People of Melksham will have the opportunity to put their questions to experts and find out more about dementia later this month as the Alzheimer’s Society Roadshow rolls into town.
The charity’s mobile information service will be stopping off in the Market Place on Friday 28th September from 10am to 4pm. It aims to increase local awareness of the condition which affects more than 6,900 people in Wiltshire. Alzheimer’s Society’s team of experts will offer free information and advice to anyone with queries about the condition, as well as helping to promote the benefits of an early diagnosis.
People currently living with dementia, or those concerned for loved ones with memory problems, are welcome to visit the team. No appointment is needed.
There will also be the opportunity to take part in Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friends information sessions. These short sessions give people the opportunity to learn more about dementia and turn that understanding into action.
If you are unable to visit the Alzheimer’s Society Roadshow but would like to find out more about dementia, call the charity on 01249 443469 or visit alzheimers.org.uk.
The roadshow’s visit comes as Melksham has recently announced its membership to the UK Network of Age Friendly Communities.
