MELKSHAM Town Football Club has joined with DB Max to launch the inaugural Melksham Town FC 10k on Sunday 30th June.
Organisers say, “The Melksham Town 10k has been designed as an event with something for everyone. Race HQ is the fantastic Melksham Town football ground, which includes a superb indoor bar and lounge, as well as outdoor seating and viewing balcony.
“The route has been designed to be fast, flat and friendly, taking in much of the local town and designed to involve the local community too. The race starts at 9.30am after a race-briefing and the DB Max warm-up. There will be winner prizes along with age group category prizes (Vet, SupVet and SupVet 60).
“The run also forms part of the 2019 Wiltshire Road Race League and will be supported by the Wiltshire Athletic Association.”
Online entry price is £19 affiliated, £21 unaffiliated, plus a small transaction fee. Day entry price is to be confirmed as the event may sell out in advance.
Registration is from 7.30am and will close at 9.15am. The race has no official cut off times, but the event marshals will be removed from the course after 90 minutes. Anyone still on course at this point will likely be accompanied to the finish by a race sweeper.
They continued, “To successfully run our events we require the help and support of race marshals and volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved and having a very rewarding experience, we’d love to hear from you. You may also have friends, family or work colleagues who would like to marshal.
“To get involved please contact us by email on firstname.lastname@example.org or call DB Max on 01225 632 103.
“In return for marshalling, we offer free entries to future DB Max events. We also provide snacks for staff on race day.
“The DB Max event team look forward to welcoming you to Melksham on race day. If you have any questions or queries regarding the Melksham Town FC 10k, then please contact DB Max on 01225 632 103 or email email@example.com.”
