THERE’S non-stop entertainment at Melksham Assembly Hall in the coming weeks.
This Friday, 30th August, the Assembly Hall hosts Elvis v Jerry Lee Lewis: The Showdown.
Promoters say, “Who was the real king of rock ‘n’ roll? Elvis the Pelvis? Or The Killer – Jerry Lee Lewis? This is your opportunity to decide as the two come head to head!
“Be excited once more by the sheer energy of Elvis’ hits such as Hound Dog, All Shook Up, Don’t Be Cruel, Blue Suede Shoes and Teddy Bear and Jerry Lee Lewis’ hits such as Great Balls of Fire, Whole Lotta Shakin’, High School Confidential, Good Golly Miss Molly and Breathless.
“Two breathtaking performers in the guise of Dave B (Elvis) and Peter Gill (Jerry Lee Lewis) remind us all why rock ‘n’ roll will never die!”
Tickets are £12, on sale at Melksham Assembly Hall. Tickets for this event are cash only and must be bought in person at the Assembly Hall.
This Saturday, 31st August the roller disco returns to the Assembly Hall. The times are: 2.30pm-4.00pm and 4.30pm-6.00pm. Tickets are £5 which includes skate hire and safety equipment.
Organisers say, “What better way for the children to expel any left over energy before the return of school!”
On Saturday 14th September, top tribute act, Simon Goodall & the Bourne Again Shadows, return to the Assembly Hall.
The band are critically acclaimed as the most authentic Cliff and The Shadows tribute act. Even Sir Cliff himself has said that the band vocalist Simon Goodall “….is without doubt the best ‘Cliff Sound-alike’ in the business.”
Tickets are £18.
Also coming up at the Assembly Hall is a medieval banquet for the town’s 800th market charter anniversary celebrations on Saturday 28th September; and Abbamania on Thursday 10th October.
