A ‘Brew Monday’ event to help raise awareness and funds for a Samaritans campaign was held in the Town Hall on 20th January, which is claimed to be the most depressing day of the year.
It was hosted by Autonomy Care Group based in Melksham, who say “We pride ourselves on providing excellent care for vulnerable people, either in their own homes or one of our residential services for adults and children and we are really keen to support local charities and campaigns in need.
“The Town Hall was full of the staff’s homemade cakes and lots of green balloons, with the aim to outreach and bring the local community together for a good cause and of course an excuse to break those New Year resolutions and eat lots of cake!
“The event was well attended with not only Autonomy Care staff and residents, but lots of lovely public and even a visit from the town Mayor, Jon Hubbard.
“Blenheim House Care Home, activities & lifestyle manager, Chris Guest, attended the event with a whopping contribution of £100 towards Autonomy Care’s Brew Monday and including all the other thoughtful donations taken from the morning, Autonomy Care Group’s Brew Monday was a huge success, raising £236.40 for the Samaritans charity.”
