Runners bogged down at Bowerhill Bomber

Story posted on

OVER 120 runners took on the muddy conditions of this year’s Bowerhill Bomber Winter on Sunday 2nd February raising money for Melksham Carnival.

The Bowerhill Bomber, organised by Redfish Events, saw runners take to the fields around the sports pavilion avoiding tricky obstacles including stiles and bridges. However, the wet ground conditions, due to the month of wet weather, meant the 10k course had to be shortened.

The results of the 5k were: 1st male: Ross Wayne of Purbeck Runners, 1st female: Mary Noyce, 1st girl 11-16: Rosie Needham, 1st boy 11-16: Lucas Wint, 1st boy 10 & under: Rory Osborne, 1st dog: Martin Dera of Somer AC.

The results of the 10k were: 1st male: Stephen Rose, 1st Melksham male: Sean Bosworth , 1st female: and 1st Melksham female: Leah Sartain of Avon Valley Runners, 1st dog: Sam MacAulay of Lonely Goat RC.

The next Redfish Events race is on Saturday 16th May, the Bratton Hilly Run- an 11k course across the hills of Bratton village. Visit https://www.entrycentral.com/event/111817 to enter.
