CHANGES are on their way at the Melksham Seniors.
The group has been running for around six years, and the say, “changes have naturally occurred, new events started, information sessions taken place, fun had. But times change and for the next few months things will have to change.
“Due to pressure on the organisers, the committee has taken the decision to stop both the Thursday, Riverside Club and the first Monday group at the Forest Community Centre until June.
“The popular films, on the third Monday of every month will naturally continue, with all the latest films being shown. All films will be advertised in the Melksham Independent News, so keep your eyes open for the next titles.”
The film for March is ‘Mary Queen of Scots’ – a 2018 historical drama film based on John Guy’s biography Queen of Scots: The True Life of Mary Stuart – showing on Monday 16th.
The film’s synopsis says, “Queen of France at 16 and widowed at 18, Mary Stuart defies pressure to remarry. Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne. However, Scotland and England fall under the rule of the compelling Elizabeth I.
“Each young Queen beholds her sister in fear and fascination. Rivals in power and in love, and female regents in a masculine world, the two must decide how to play the game of marriage versus independence.”
Doors open 1.30pm, film starts at 2pm, everybody is welcome, come along to the Assembly Hall and enjoy the film on the large screen.
