Aloeric Primary School in Melksham has received a visit from The Bath & Wiltshire Parent, with the school set to feature in a future issue of the magazine.
Aloeric School will appear in the March/April issue of the magazine as the subject of its regular School Report feature that profiles schools across the Bath and West Wiltshire region. The visit saw writer Georgette McCready and photographer Anna Barclay visit the school for a morning just before Easter, where they were shown around the grounds and classrooms by head of school, Rebecca Clifton.
“It was a great opportunity for the children to meet a real live reporter and photographer for the morning,” said Rebecca. “We often have visitors, such as authors and athletes, but we’ve not had a journalist or photographer for a while. Some of the children in Year 5 were writing their own newspaper reports on the Viking invasion, so they were thrilled when Georgette walked into their room!
“We are hoping that the visit has inspired some future journalists and hope both Georgette and Anna come back to visit us again.”
The Bath & Wiltshire Parent is the biggest family magazine in the Bath and West Wiltshire region, reaching 21,800 families, with many more visiting its website – www.thebathandwiltshireparent.co.uk – Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.
“It was a real treat for the team to visit Aloeric Primary School and witness the school’s clear focus on nurturing its pupils’ well-being and sense of community,” said editor Ian Waller.
“The magazine will be available through schools across Melksham and the surrounding area, as well as in Melksham Library and a number of local family-related locations.”
