WITH large numbers of people living in the area wanting to improve their English, Wiltshire College & University Centre is delighted to have moved its part-time course online.
The College has been offering English Speaker of Other Languages (ESOL) courses for a number of years and this has expanded in recent years, becoming increasingly popular in the workplace with local employers.
Now however, with many people wanting to keep busy at home during the Coronavirus pandemic, those looking to improve their English can now study with us online via video conferencing.
Supported by friendly staff, students will learn a variety of skills aimed at improving their speaking and listening skills from pre entry (beginners) to Level 2 (advanced). Courses will run in the morning or the evening. The College will also continue to offer Vocational Fast Track ESOL courses.
Tom Evans, Deputy Head of ESOL, said: “As an ESOL teaching team we are really excited to be able to offer our courses for the summer term online via video link.
“This is an opportunity for us to use new technology in an innovative way for the benefit of our learners. We are trying to make the best of this difficult situation we all find ourselves in and we are determined to continue to offer the highest quality learning experience we can to all our current and new ESOL students across Wiltshire.”
The course has been reduced from £190 to £150, however many students will be able to access courses for FREE, particularly those receiving some benefits such as Universal Credit and those working part-time and earning less than £16,000 per year.
