ROLL out of the second Covid-19 vaccination has begun in Melksham’s care homes.
Blenheim House Care Home residents received their second dose of the vaccination last week; whilst it is anticipated that Brookside Care Home residents and staff will receive their second vaccination this week.
Blenheim’s home manager, Mirko Ridolfo, said, “Today (Thursday 25th March) marks our second phase of vaccinations against the Covid-19 virus. A momentous occasion that was made possible by the amazing NHS service and Majesticare working in partnership to keep us and our families safe.
“The vaccines have the potential to bring back normality to our lives, meaning we can eventually see our families, hug our loved ones and simply enjoy each others company again.”
Blenheim residents received their Pfizer-BioNTech and AstraZeneca injections, depending on the brand of their first vaccine.
From OSJCT, which manages Brookside, regional director for Wiltshire, Janet Panell, said, “We are pleased that our homes in Wiltshire are starting to have their second vaccinations. We anticipate that residents and colleagues at Brookside will receive their second dose this week.”
