NEW alternative-rock band, Enter Red, featuring Melksham drummer Ben Laver, are releasing their debut single ‘Pin Drops’ next week.
Completing the Enter Red line-up alongside drummer Ben is Kyle Ashwood on guitar and vocals, Tom Smith on bass and lead guitarist Liam Sailes.
And whilst Enter Red is described as “Bath’s hottest emerging band”, the quartet will be a familiar name to some in Melksham, having played in a number of local pubs in their formative years, including the Foresters Arms, the Parsons Nose and the Pilot.
Their debut single ‘Pin drops’, which was recorded at Melksham’s Nine Volt Leap studios on Bath Road, will be released on Friday 30th July.
The band will be headlining a release party on 6th August at Moles in Bath, followed by a tour across the UK, stopping off in places including Swansea, Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester.
About Enter Red, promoters say, “They draw influence from the likes of Foals, Radiohead and The Amazons. The band has developed their unique brand of infectious alt-rock that’s already making waves across the country. Their sound has been described as “loud, proud, such a huge sound” by BBC Bristol, after their live version of ‘Ironic Idles’ was made ‘Track of the Week’, an achievement the band has had twice.
“The quartet are already establishing themselves as a tour de force on the live circuit, with many headline sold out shows already under their belts. This is without any official releases showing the power of their live shows which are known for capturing audiences with their raucous youthful energy, tight performances and dynamic stage presence.
“They combine catchy pop hooks with the rhythmic phrasing of a math-rock band, tying it all together with the massive soaring anthems they’re known for. This combination is on full display with their debut single ‘Pin drops’ which was mixed by former Spring King front man Tarek Musa who has also worked with the likes of Circa Waves, Genghar, Devon, Police Car Collective and Calva Louise.”
