Story posted on

THE second of the new series of concerts at St. Mary’s Church, Broughton Gifford will be given on Saturday 18th December, by two talented young Spanish musicians based in London, the Duo Fabulae.

The church says, “They are viola player Lorena Cantó and pianist Yvain Canto. Both study at the Guildhall School of Music in London and they spent lockdown providing a series of digital concerts through Sands Film Studio.

“Lorena has appeared on BBC3 and Classic FM and was the winner of the Gianni Bergamo Classic Music Award in Lugano (Switzerland). Yvain has recently been recording at the famous Abbey Road Studios. Between them they have performed at such famous venues as the Wigmore Hall in London and the Konzerthaus in Berlin.

“The programme will have a festive feel about it, including works by the Strausses, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Falla.

“The concert will begin at 7.30pm and tickets on the night will be £10, though they may be purchased in advance for £8 from Holt Superstore and The Bell on the Common, Broughton Gifford.”
