SIXTEEN members of two Melksham fitness clubs have conquered the Three Peaks challenge raising nearly £6,000 for charity.
The fitness enthusiasts from On The Block Fitness Training and The Contender Gym climbed the highest peaks of Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon), in just over 22 hours.
“With hardly any sleep we completed this amazing climb of all three of the highest mountains,” said owner of On The Block Fitness Training, Tracy Steel. “Everybody involved showed incredible determination.
“Thank you to our two drivers, Lee Williams and Graham Williams, who gave up their time to drive us hundreds of miles, and Jim Walker, owner of Limitless Mountains, who led us all up three peaks.”
The people taking part each chose a different charity to raise money and awareness for. The charities include Wiltshire Mind, Dorothy House, Riding for the Disabled Association, RSPCA, and the National Autistic Society.
There is still time to support and sponsor the individuals who took part, visit the On The Block Training Facebook page for more information: www.facebook. com/On-The-Block-Training-106403667890816
