melksham, wiltshire, broughton gifford, kate lomas, janet devlin, x factor, LOCAL singer/song writer Kate Lomas will be making her fourth appearance at The Fleece in Bristol on 26th September supporting X Factor’s Janet Devlin.

Kate, who is 18 and lives in Broughton Gifford near Melksham has just finished A-levels and has been performing at local pubs and music venues for over a year, singing a mix of her own songs and contemporary covers.

Most recently she has performed at the Bradford on Avon Fringe festival, the Dirty Boots Festival and the Beer & Cider Festival at The Fox, Broughton Gifford, as a support act alongside Emmy J Mac from The Voice.

She describes her genre as acoustic folk and was featured on BBC radio’s ‘Introducing’ programme last autumn, performing two of her own songs live in the studio. As well as singing and writing her own songs, Kate plays keyboard and guitar, along with her co-performer Megan Gibson on guitar.

The Fleece, a Bristol music venue which has seen performances by the likes of Amy Winehouse and Cold Play and many other famous names early in their careers, put forward 10 local bands to support Janet Devlin on 26th September and Kate was one of two chosen to perform.

Kate says “I am thrilled to have been picked to play in support of Janet Devlin. I have performed at The Fleece several times before and it is always an exciting venue with a great audience. I am really looking forward to it!”
