Art House Cafe Exhibitions

What could be better whilst drinking a cup of coffee when it is also accompanied by the work of a range of local artists displayed on the walls of the Art House Café in Melksham Market Place?

You might even end up purchasing one of the works to adorn your walls! At the same time you are adding to Rotary profits which are all for the benefit of the local community.

Rotary are fortunate that Pattie Lockett does all the negotiations with the artists and ensures that, once a month, a really lively and colourful collection of their work is on display in the cafe. Pattie aims for a different range of exhibitors each month with September being the work by David Hitchcock with his illustrative display including that of Dr Who characters and a Star Wars theme. His work will be on display until 5th October and has proved popular so far this month with customers. Pattie said, “The customers seem to enjoy the artwork this month and there has been many positive comments. It definitely gets noticed.”

Artist David Hitchcock is pleased to see his work exhibited. He said, “It is great to see it displayed and art is my passion which I want to make my full-time job, so this is a step towards that ambition.”

The organisers say, “Over the coming months a rich and varied programme awaits you, so why not make sure you visit the Art House Café and see what is on display? You won’t regret it!”
