Melksham-based charity, Wiltshire Mind, has been nominated to receive a grant to put towards their charity work.
Wiltshire Mind is a branch of the national mental health charity, Mind. The Wiltshire group runs five self-help peer support social groups, and a reduced-cost counselling service for mentally disabled adults. The charity has groups in Melksham, Devizes, Chippenham, Malmesbury, and Trowbridge.
Lloyds Bank Community Fund donate money to causes that are an important part of their local community. The grants are issued on a nomination and public vote basis. Wiltshire Mind CEO David Mckeigue said, “This nomination is absolutely fantastic news for Wiltshire Mind and we would like to thank the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2014 for including us in this public vote event.
“Wiltshire Mind is not commissioned by Wiltshire Council or the Clinical Commissioning Group to provide our much-needed and valuable mental health services, and thus we remain very dependent on voluntary donations and grants from trusts and foundations – such as this Lloyds Bank Community Fund. The ever increasing number of people suffering with mental health problems requires Wiltshire Mind to not only continue to provide but also expand our services right across Wiltshire – to do this we need more donations and new funding. So please vote for us!”
The cause receiving the most votes will receive £3,000, and there are runner-up prizes of £2,000, £1,000, and £500. To vote for Wiltshire Mind go to https://lly-cf.com/TYR or vote in a Lloyds branch in Melksham, Corsham, Bradford-on-Avon, or Trowbridge. Wiltshire Mind has a drop-in group in Melksham every Wednesday from 1pm-4pm at the St Anthony of Padua Church Westend Road. All are welcome.
