Melksham Christmas Lights launches its first Fireworks Display on Wednesday 5th November at Forest Community Centre and promises a spectacular display, with all proceeds going directly into the Christmas Lights fund.
Organiser Paul Weymouth said, “Its a first for Melksham Christmas Lights team, but we have assisted the Aloeric display which we have effectively adopted for many years.
“We are drawing on the skills of one of the best fireworks companies around and one which I work with closely throughout the year on other large events. We have kept the price as low as possible to encourage as many people as possible to attend, sometimes you get a lot more than you pay for!”
Gates open at 6.00pm, with a colourful bonfire being lit at 6.30pm. There will be musical fireworks at 7.00pm with cakes, hot food, drinks and a licensed bar plus glow sticks all available throughout. Advance tickets are on sale now and available from the town hall, Forest Community Centre and Cobblers Bench, and every advance ticket offers automatic entry into a £50 cash draw on the night.
Paul said, “We want to encourage the biggest crowd possible; every person who attends will be helping make this year’s lights that little bit more special – and they can witness that just one month later!
“We worked with other local non-profit displays to ensure we didn’t clash, and we are confident this will be an event that with peoples support can grow bigger and even better each year – just like our lights!”
Full details are available online at www.melkshamchristmaslights.com including a map of the site with gate locations. Limited parking for less able people will be available at the centre, and it is easy to access from the town centre via Murray Walk. All entrances and walkways will be well lit, and drivers are asked to park sensibly in the surrounding areas.
Paul added, “We promise a superb display at an unbeatable price; all we ask is for the community to support us.
“Anyone that wishes to speak to us about the event or thinks they may be able to help is welcome to contact me on 07535 157071 or firstname.lastname@example.org
“Thank you in advance for your support, as ever!”
