The Warminster Military Wives Choir will be appearing at Melksham’s Assembly Hall on Sunday 21st June in a special fundraising concert being promoted by Melksham Music Festival.
Proceeds raised will be shared between Dorothy House Hospice, Winsley and The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Co-operative Funeralcare Melksham are pleased to be assisting with sponsorship.
Members of the Warminster Military Wives Choir have performed in many high profile events with Gareth Malone’s Military Wives Choir, including the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace.
Melksham Music Festival spokesperson, Tom Sangster said that they were absolutely delighted to get the services of the very popular choir and extremely pleased and grateful for the sponsorship support of Co-operative Funeralcare.
Also appearing will be Melksham musical theatre performer Leonie Macaslin who has appeared in London musicals and in local music theatre productions. Leonie will be appearing in a musical production of ‘Hairspray’ at Frome’s Memorial Theatre in May. And, Melksham Ukulele Social Club (MUSC) group of musicians will provide a slightly different twist to the evening’s entertainment.
Ukulele groups have become an almost new brand of entertainment and it is pleasing that Melksham has one of its own growing from strength to strength.
Tickets are now on sale priced at £10 each. They can be obtained from Melksham Assembly Hall, Melksham Tourist Information Centre and on-line (plus booking fee) from www.ticketsource.co.uk/event/86938. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8.pm start.
