FOREST Community Centre is hosting a charity football match on Sunday 30th August to raise money for the AFC Melksham disabled team.
Organisers say come to Forest Community Centre over the bank holiday weekend whatever the weather, for a charity football match and barbecue.
“Both Forest AFC and AFC Melksham disabled football team will be playing friendly matches to raise money for the AFC Melksham disabled team.
“The football clubs also welcome AFC Bournemouth disabled football team who will be sending a 32-seater coach of players down to play.
“Everyone is welcome, bring the whole family along from 11am on Sunday 30th August.
“Then on Saturday 5th September, dig out your cowboy boots for an evening of country & western entertainment with special guest Chris Harris.”
Vic Oakman, chairman at the community centre said, “It’s a very popular event and we normally have around 50 or 60 people come along. We are hoping to hold a country and western evening on every 1st Saturday of the month. Hopefully it will go from strength to strength.”
Doors open at 7.30pm and a disco will kick start the evening before Chris Harris starts at 8.30pm. Tickets on the door £6 or in advance £5.
The community centre also hosts an open mic night on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Vic Oakman said, “It’s an opportunity for local musicians to showcase their talents and we normally have 15 acts that perform.”
