Body Pump and Aloeric take on the challenge of The Monster Race

SEVEN members of Christie Miller Body Pump class, for the first time, took on the challenge of the Winter Monster at Charlton Park on Saturday 10th October.

This involved running for 13k and tackling 50 obstacles ranging from crawling under barbed wire, swimming through a freezing lake and running with 20k sandbags on their back.

Those that took part were Nicky Cross, Jenny Tarrant and Renata Wootten, all Aloeric mums, Ruth Gould an Aloeric teacher, Matthew Service an ex Aloeric pupil and Gemma Baxevanidis a Body Pump member, and not forgetting Joanna Knight the class instructor.

The team finished nearly half way up the placings, good going for a first attempt,  with Ruth Gould being placed first in her age group.

Many thanks go to Matthew for babysitting them around the first circuit. They had so much fun that they are already booked onto another one in Bath, where, this time, they will be running for charity.
