Students raise money for Cancer Research

TWO students from Aloeric School are fundraising for Cancer Research Kids and Teens after their cousin was diagnosed with leukaemia.

Shanel and Amellio Wnek-Coelho decided to raise money for the charity because their three-year-old cousin was recently diagnosed with cancer.

The pair have held a cake sale at their school, Amellio shaved his head, and with support from the school and their family, they walked from Melksham to Bath along the towpath.

They said, “We want to raise money to help all cancer patients have a better life. So far we have raised £600 and Amellio has donated his hair to be used for wigs.

“The walk to Bath was really hard. We walked for 21 miles and it took 7 hours and 32 minutes and it rained the entire time. We were soaked, our umbrella broke and our mum fell in a puddle! We felt really proud when we finished though.”
