THE owners of Melksham Blinds Company will be stepping aside next week, as they embrace retirement after running the business for over 10 years.
Ken and Kay Morris, who set up the local firm in 2005, will soon retire and hand the business over to Trowbridge man Mark Lambdin.
Kay said, “Ken and I would like to thank all our customers from over the years, and especially our children Jason and Kerry for helping us run the business.
“We’re both looking forward to retiring but will be sad to leave the business behind. The work has always kept us busy and I’ll miss meeting people; we’ve been lucky to have a lot of lovely customers.
“Melksham Blinds will carry on as usual when Mark takes over; he has a lot of experience so we know it will be in capable hands.”
The family-run blinds company was set up by Ken and Kay after they had worked for many years at a national firm. They ran the business from their home in Melksham, and between them had more than 50 years’ experience in the trade.
Mark, who will take over the firm in January said, “I’m really looking forward to taking on Melksham Blinds. Ken and Kay have built a good business so I’ll be looking to carry on as it is, with hopefully some more work near home in Trowbridge.
“I’ve been in the blinds trade since 1988 and have done a lot of work with business clients, so it’ll be good to work in a more local, hands-on job.”
Mark will manage the business from Monday 4th January and can be contacted on the same number, 01225 350227.
