Melksham Motor Spares goes the extra mile for charity

After a year of fundraising for Dorothy House, Melksham Motor Spares completed their final event on December 4th with their Treadmill Challenge.

Over 30 staff took turns walking and running on treadmills in their Bowerhill shop for a total of 10 hours and the event was even live streamed on the internet.

The original aim was to  cover 47 miles. Financial director, Alison Cook said, “We chose this distance because the company is 47 years old, by the end of the day we had exceeded this target and covered almost 60 miles.

“We have been so well supported all year by staff, customers, friends, family and suppliers, so again we must thank everyone for their kindness and generosity.

“We have been humbled by the amazing support and we are thrilled to have raised so much money for such a fantastic cause.”

The day was a great success and the fun atmosphere was captured perfectly by Nick Dadson, one of the Melksham Motor Spares team, who did his stint on the treadmill in full clown fancy dress.

The sponsorship is still rolling in, but so far the day has raised close to £600, pushing the grand total raised for the year to over £6,000.
