FOREST and Sandridge School has achieved the silver level in Wiltshire Council’s Healthy School Programme.
Forest and Sandridge School is one of 17 schools to have recently completed the Healthy Schools Programme and, at a special awards ceremony earlier this month, the school’s efforts in promoting health and wellbeing of young people were celebrated.
Headteacher Anna Willcox said, “We are very proud of achieving the Silver Healthy Schools Award.
“Jen Hale, PSHEE leader, has worked incredibly hard to collect evidence to prove that we meet the standard. Her work with our group of play leaders has been particularly notable – these children have helped to involve 70% more of our children in active games and other activities at break times. This continues to improve with a record number of children coming forward to be play leaders this term.”
PSHEE leader, Jen Hale said, “We are very pleased to get this award. The children have worked hard to make many changes within school, especially our play leaders who have taken on a huge role of initiating lunchtime activities to make lunchtimes more active and enjoyable for the children.”
