Dorothy House Hospice Care is delighted to invite you to Great Chalfield Manor, near Melksham, for an afternoon among snowdrops on Sunday 14th February.
Great Chalfield Manor is a beautiful 15th Century moated house, set in stunning gardens. This National Trust property – which featured in the production of Wolf Hall – is not normally open to the public at this time of year, but Robert and Patsy Floyd have kindly offered to host this event for Dorothy House.
Entry is a donation to Dorothy House of £4 and refreshments are available including homemade cakes, tea and coffee in the barn. The gardens are open from 2.00-4.00pm. There will also be music in the chapel.
Dorothy House community fundraiser Yvonne Brunton said, “This is such a lovely event. Many people think snowdrops are the first real sign of spring, and what better way to see them than in such an enchanting place?”
The Great Chalfield Snowdrop event launches the Dorothy House Open Gardens season. This year is their 40th anniversary and to mark it they would like to feature 40 gardens across the region. If you would be interested in taking part, please call Yvonne Brunton on 01225 721480.
