Family Fun Day at the Conigre – Sunday 5th June

Event organiser: Joe Hargreaves
A FAMILY fun day is to take place at the Conigre this weekend which will offer entertainment for all the family. The event, organised by Joseph Hargreaves, takes place every year with this year’s fun day taking place on Sunday 5th June from 10.30am.
All the money raised on the day will go to Dorothy House Hospice and Sands. There will be children’s rides, a barbecue, a charity football match and a raffle which has a huge array of prizes thanks to the generosity of the Melksham community.
Raffle prizes include a signed England shirt football by the Euro 2016 squad, 18 holes of golf for four people at Bowood, three month gym pass at City Fitness, signed Bath RFC shirt by captain Stuart Hooper, £30 voucher at Somerset arms and vouchers for Barbershop on Union Street and as many more.
The charity football game kicks off at 2pm and entry to the day costs £1 with a strip of raffle tickets also costing £1.
Joe, who has held the fun days for several years, said: “I am really hoping we get a huge turnout as we have in previous years.
“The event usually raises more than £1,000 so to do that again for two great charities would be fantastic. It might be the last chance some people get to visit the Conigre so why not have a great day with the family at the same time.
“The fun day wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of the Melksham community so thank you to everyone that has contributed.”
