Police are investigating a burglary in Melksham and are asking for help in locating some of the stolen items.
In the early hours of Wednesday 17th August, a burglary took place at Absolute Power Tools in Bowerhill. The suspects stole more than £5,500 worth of power tools.
A 22-year-old man from Melksham and a 17-year-old man from Salisbury were arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection with this incident and have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Local crime investigator Amy Evans said, “A number of tools remain outstanding and there is a possibility that they may be sold on locally – I am keen to hear from anyone who may have information on the tools. Has anyone attempted to sell these items to you? Have you seen them being sold online? If so, please get in touch.
The items outstanding are:
• 1 x STIHL TS400 disc cutter (Stand-alone orange coloured disc cutter)
• 1 x STIHL TS410 disc cutter (Stand-alone orange coloured disc cutter)
• 38 x MAKITA batteries (30 x 3AH and 8 x 4AH) (Black 5” x 6” blocks with ‘MAKITA’ print)
• 1 x MAKITA DLX 6012PM drill kit (Black and green coloured cardboard box approx 1ft x 1.5ft)
• 1 x MAKITA DLX 6000PM drill kit (Black and green coloured cardboard box approx 1ft x 1.5ft)
• 1 x MAKITA DLX4084 drill kit (Black and green canvas bag approx 1ft by 1ft)
• 1 x MAKITA HR2610 drill kit (Black and green solid, plastic box with black handle approx 1ft x 10”)
• 1 x MAKITA router/trimmer RT0700 (Black and green canvas bag approx. 1ft x 1ft)
LCI Evans added, “I’d also like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around the area during the early hours of Wednesday morning. We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who witnessed vehicles driving around Bowerhill between midnight and 3am.”
