Afternoon tea and activities for Melksham Seniors

MELKSHAMSeniors Forum is holding a tea and dance afternoon of activities to celebrate Older People’s Day next month.

The International Day of Older Persons and the UK’s Older People’s Day both fall on next Saturday, 1st October, and special events will be taking place across the country to celebrate the day.

Melksham Seniors’ chairman Brian Warwick said, “Here in Melksham we will be holding our own event to which seniors are invited on Monday 3rd October at the Forest Community Centre from 1.30pm.

“Our event will be a celebratory afternoon tea, with many fun and other enjoyable activities including an opportunity to dance and swing along to great music of the 50s, 60s and 70s.

“Older People’s Day is celebrated annually to recognise the contributions of older persons and to examine issues that affect their lives.”

Free transport is available to the event but must be booked before 4pm on Thursday 29th September. To book, visit or phone the Tourist Information Centre on 01225 707424.
