Jackie Round is retiring after 27 years at Boots
STAFF at Boots in Melksham have said a sad farewell to Jackie Round who is retiring after 27 years at the store.
Jackie has been a health care advisor for Boots for 27 years but has made the difficult decision to retire.
Jackie said, “I have loved my time at Boots and I am sad to be leaving but it’s the time is right to go. 27 years ago Mr Powell employed me. He was a lovely man and I loved working for him. He was the pharmacist and the store manager; he worked very hard.
“I’ve been here such a long time. The babies I met all those years ago are now bringing their babies in!
“We have so many wonderful customers and I’ve made a lot of friends. The staff are lovely, especially Kate Rainbow, she has helped me so much. I don’t know what I would have done without her.
“I was born in Melksham but moved away with my husband for work many years ago. We’ve now been living in Atworth for 30 years. I’m very fond of Melksham as are a lot of people. No-one tends to move away.”
Pharmacist Kate Rainbow said, “We are all very sad to see Jackie leave, she will be sorely missed, not just by us but by the customers as well. They ask us where she is on her days off so a lot of people will be sad not to see her in the store any more. It won’t be the same without her.”
