A MAN from Holt recently completed the Brave the Shave challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Peter Mayes called round to Melksham barber, Graham Griffiths to have his head shaved for the charity.
Peter, who has always wanted to shave his head, said, “I saw the Brave the Shave advert on television in August and signed up straight away.
“Having my head shaved have been on my bucket list for years.”
Peter, who moved to Holt two years ago, had visited Griffs in Melksham and knew that he was the barber for the job and was delighted when Griff agreed.
The pair devised a routine to achieve over half a dozen different hair styles and cuts during the shave starting with ‘The Hairy Beast’, ‘Teddy Boy’, ‘Pudding Bowl’, ‘Monk’, ‘Mullet’ and Mohican.
Peter has raised over £200 for Macmillan Cancer Support who helped his mother when she was terminally ill. Peter added, “Whilst I have wanted to do this for some time, doing it for Macmillan has made it quite personal.”
Now sporting a ‘Kojak’ Peter said he quite liked the look; but didn’t intend to keep it and will be round to Griffs when his hair has grown back.
