Age UK at Shaw and Whitley WI

“Our meeting was opened by our president Sylvia Bennett who welcomed us all, she then gave a full report about the AGM held at Salisbury, five members attended.

The guests speakers were Tony Neate from Stay safe online and David Hempleman-Adams, High Sheriff of Wiltshire – both of which were excellent.

We then welcomed our speaker Jean Collins who spoke about Age UK and  befriending the elderly. She told us of the many services available, providing us with the information and advice it’s all out there for us all to use.

Age UK can put you in touch with daycare, fitness, friendship, help with travel insurance, car insurance and so much more. Jackie gave the vote of thanks, we had a most enjoyable evening.

Future events are Carol singing at Mavern House 7th December and flower arranging 15th December.

Next meeting will be our Christmas one. We are having a buffet and will be entertained by The Packhorse Ceilidh band.”
