Inspiring young people of Melksham have been recognised for their ‘outstanding’ achievements and community contributions at a special awards ceremony last week.
The fifth annual Young People’s Awards ceremony was held at Melksham Assembly Hall on Friday 25th November with special guests Ministry of Science providing the entertainment.
Accolades were given out in thirteen categories. You can read the full citations of each winner HERE but here is brief synopsis of the winners.
Ciaran Hanks and Graham Christmas won the Young Achiever Awards; Ciaran for raising over £600 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Graham for turning his life around.
Jamie Davies won the Fundraising Award for his golf marathon which raised over £1,000 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Tianna James won the Volunteering Award for teaching young children how to swim.
Tyler Nickle was presented with the Young Leader Award for his work with Aspire House; Elizabeth Bools, the Sporting Individual Award for her sporting achievements while AFC Melksham Town Under 12 Girls Team received the Sporting Team Award and The Enigma Twirl Team won the Team Arts Award.
James Wilkins received the Young Voice Award for his work with young people in the community; Lucy Evans and Cain Collins won Young Carer Awards for their maturity and resilience in difficult home situations; and Lola Brady received the Individual Arts Award for her contribution to the arts in the community.
Finally, Amy Brown won the School Council award for helping other students at Melksham Oak School.
