Auction raises £10,000 in memory of biker

ANAUCTIONat Lowden Garden Centre recently raised £10,000 for charity in memory of a superbike racer.

The auction, in memory of British Superbike competitor Ollie Bridewell, was attended by around 180 people and raised the giant sum for Cancer Research UK.

Ollie’s younger brother Tommy now competes in the British Superbike Championship with the sponsorship of Lowden owner, Jonathan Sinclair.

Lots up for auction included a skydive, race team hospitality at British and World Superbikes,  and one of Tommy’s British Superbike crash helmets along with a photograph of Tommy in action.

Ollie’s sister Charlotte spoke about how she will run the London Marathon this year to mark the 10th anniversary of her brother’s death in 2007.

Melksham man PaulKorkus said, “Everyone who attended thought it was a great night and thanked Lizzie and Stacey Bridewell, along with Jonathan and all his staff who worked hard to make sure they enjoyed the event.”
