What’s on at Assembly Hall

THERE’S so much entertainment at Melksham Assembly Hall with exciting shows and live music coming up in the next few months.

The entertainment begins this weekend with All You Need is The Beatles – Friday 9th June. Acclaimed local tribute band All You Need Is The Beatles celebrate 50 years since the release of The Beatles’ seminal Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band LP with a special celebration concert.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential albums of all time, Sgt. Pepper was released on 1st June 1967 to immediate commercial and critical success, spending 27 weeks at the top of the albums chart in the UK. This fabulous two-hour show also features many of The Beatles’ greatest hits guaranteed to have the audience singing and dancing along from start to finish. Tickets cost £15/ concession £12.50. Show starts at 7.30pm.

Dolly Parton tribute act, Julia Martin brings her show ‘Dollywood to Hollywood’ to the Assembly Hall on Saturday 10th June. This acclaimed two-hour show, performed by the extremely talented and world-renowned Julia Martin, plays tribute to the musical journey from rags to riches of the undisputed queen of country music Dolly Parton.

With vocals direct from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Tennessee, mannerisms that are ‘Pure Dolly’ and a stage presence that commands the room, Julia weaves her magic and delivers a show that makes you feel that Dolly herself is in the theatre. This foot stomping, hand clapping show, captures the audience from start to finish, with Julia combining Dolly’s hit classic songs and unique one-liners into a spectacular performance. Tickets cost £18. Show starts at 7.30pm.

Then on Thursday 22nd June, Brian Poole & The Tremeloes play at the Assembly Hall.

It is 54 years ago since the band known as Brian Poole & The Tremeloes recorded their first record. Now over 50 years on the three singers who sang on all the hit recordings of Brian Poole & The Tremeloes, continuing on to greater success as The Tremeloes, after Brian left to go solo.

What we see on this show is Brian Poole, Len “Chip” Hawkes and Dave Munden, together again, performing hits, such as “Twist And Shout”, “Do You Love Me”, “Silence Is Golden”, “(Call Me) Number One”, “Suddenly You Love Me” and many, many more. Backing will be provided by hit recording stars “Vanity Fare”.

A great evening of nostalgia taking you back to the Swinging Sixties. A show not to be missed! Tickets £21, show starts 7:30pm
