AN illustrated talk on plant photography was presented by Derek Mason at Atworth Camera Club’s meeting on 31st July.
The talk centred on his wife, Marion’s, beautiful garden and house plants which included interesting shots of roses, tulips, orchids, plus many others, and even some of fruit and small wildlife. Derek explained how he had taken each shot, which camera, lens, aperture, focal length, etc. and whether film or digital, plus the post processing he had carried out using such as Lightroom and Photoshop to achieve the final image.
Following a break for tea and biscuits, Jim Marsden gave a talk on cropping images, which he demonstrated with some of his wonderful action shots.
The club meets on the last Monday of each month at 7.30pm in the Atworth Village Hall & Institute.
The next meeting will be on Monday 28th August when members will be able to showcase their favourite images from the summer by projection (images on USB memory stick) or print. There will also be opportunity for people to bring up their problems, which will be addressed by some of the more experienced members.
These meetings are open to all – young, old, experienced, new starter, and all for just £2 per meeting.
