Customers enjoyed appearances from TV chef Peter Sidwell on the Saturday and Hari Ghotra on the Sunday, plus musical entertainment and a variety of activities and funfair rides for the children.

Speaking about the celebrations, Dave Watson, store manager at Leekes Melksham said, “We are delighted that so many of our loyal customers turned up to the event to celebrate our 25th birthday. As an independent family-run retailer, this is a key achievement and we’re looking forward to enjoying the next 25 years here in Melksham!”

Jon Miller who has been working at the store since it opened in 1992 said, “I can clearly remember the original muddy building site which we purchased and have transformed into the beautiful home department store it is today. On a personal note I also met my wife of 15 years whilst working at the store – I can’t believe I have spent 25 years working for our great family business – time has flown by!”
