At the end of November, the Melksham Gardeners’ Society held their Christmas wreath making night with the delightful Kathryn Crouch demonstrating how to make them.
Kathryn gave a fantastic demonstration and talk back in March on spring flowers and arranging them, so it was lovely to have her as a guest again.
Elizabeth (Betty) Thompson made the prize winning wreath – so many congratulations to her and to all of the other beautiful wreaths made that evening.
Thanks must also go to: Teresa Strange for providing the rings, wire and lots of goodies that were used in the wreath making – Andy Kolczak for helping with the tea, glogg and mince pies – the committee who set up every meeting and clean up at the end and arrange all the events and a special shout out for Ann who always helps with the chairs!
All the left over greenery went with Teresa for the cubs and scouts for their Christmas making projects.
Just to remind you, the next meeting will be on Tuesday 30th January at 7.30pm. The talk will be ‘Who’s Living in Your Soil?’ presented by Tom Hartley from the Soil Association. With our heavy clay soil, we know we all have slugs and snails but what else is there? Please come along and find out.
New members and guests are always welcome. Entry is £1 for members and £2 for guests. Annual membership is (currently) £10. For more information please contact Email: melksham_gardeners @live.co.uk
