In January 2017, Core Church launched Coffee On The Way at the village hall in Bowerhill.
One year on and the venture is going from strength to strength. On the first, third and fifth Wednesday of every month the hall is converted to a bistro, serving espresso coffee, delicious snack lunches and wonderful cakes supplied by Newmans. All the coffee and teas are Fair Trade.
Organisers say, “Coffee On The Way is a social enterprise, re-investing all profits into community activities such as Christmas dinner in the Assembly Hall. We open at 8.30am and close at 4.00pm. There is something for all parts of the day, starting with morning coffee and a cake, a panini-melt for lunch and finishing with afternoon tea.
“We have regulars who join us for a few hours while others pass through more quickly, but all agree that it is a nice place to meet with friends for a catch-up with reasonable prices and an emphasis on quality.
“We have plenty of space for more guests, so come and give us a try if you are in or around Bowerhill. We are happy to take pre-orders and take-aways for those with less time to sit and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere.”
