DUE to the success of Melksham Men’s Shed, they would like to invite more residents to use the facility.
The new Men’s Shed was opened last year at the Forest Community Centre. Currently open just two mornings a week, due to its popularity, the Shed will now be opening for a third morning on a Friday, from 2nd March.
Chris Pickett, of Melksham Men’s Shed said, “Should you wish to come in an afternoon and not in the morning, we would be pleased to include this in our new opening times programme. Until this date we are there Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9-30am to 12-30pm. You do not have to have any formal ability, only the desire to have some social interaction with like-minded people.
“Projects that we have already completed have included the new flower containers at the Spa Road garage, the Nature Reserve signs and more recently, some swift nesting boxes. Plans for this year may include assisting the town council with repairs to play area seating, making more nesting boxes, renovating and donating a bench, as well as personal projects for the members.
“We hope to also have a woodturning day on a Thursday and in the better weather, an organised trip to one of the many local places of interest, like the Army Air Museum or Fleet Air Arm Museum. If this appeals to you please call in and see how the Melksham Shed can benefit you; a couple of hours a week with friends might be just what you need !”
