‘What Lies Beneath at Gardeners’ Society

The Melksham Gardeners’ Society held a talk on “What Lives Beneath” by Tom Hartley from the Soil Association, at the Rachel Fowler Centre in February.

Cary Hopkins from the Society said, “We learnt all about the different layers of creatures and fungi and bacteria that are part of the food chain helping (and sometimes hindering) the gardener.

“Thank you Tom for the informative talk, even more so as it seems to support the No Dig movement that is becoming fashionable – anything that saves the gardener’s back we like!

“The next meeting is our AGM and will be held on Tuesday 27th March at the Rachel Fowler Centre at 7.30pm followed by a talk by Don Everitt on hardy perennials.

“New members and guests are always welcome. Door entry is £1 for members, £2 for guests and  annual membership is £10.”
