MMAD prepare to step back in time!

MELKSHAM Music and Drama (MMAD) is preparing for their next big show packed full of songs from the 50s and 60s.

“MMAD’s Jukebox is a show with a collection of songs from the 50s and 60s, coupled with dances that’ll take you back to one of the greatest era of music,” said MMAD’s Linda Mence.

“Come and join us for an evening of music, fun and entertainment. With flashbacks to Dirty Dancing and Grease, we’re sure to have something for everyone.

“The group are half-way through rehearsals for the show that is on in May.  If you love 50s and 60s music you are in for a treat.  Once again, Melksham Music and Drama are pulling out all the stops to make sure this is one more brilliant show that you will not want to miss.”

The new show follows hot on the heels of their last show in February, Rapunzel the Pantomime, which was hailed as a massive success, with show nights being filled to capacity.

Director of Rapunzel, Donna Ruderman said, “The camaraderie of this music and drama group shines through on stage and they were able to rise to the challenges of a well-written script.

“Everyone was amazing and made the characters their own. Many of the cast made their own costumes, they were well-made and vibrant and there was a burst of colour when they entered the stage.”

Linda added, “As well as the superb acting, singing and dancing, the music and drama group design and build their own scenery.  Justin Haggett was the producer of this show and along with dedicated club members, spent weekends putting together a stunning set. Justin also played the Dame, swapping paint brushes for make-up brushes. Both Donna and Justin are long-standing members of MMAD and always give 110% to every role they take up.

“This non-profit making group work incredibly hard to entertain to a high standard providing a range of shows – showcasing the many talents of its members.”

Show dates for ‘MMAD’s Jukebox’ are 4th and 5th May and 11th and 12th May. Tickets are available now from: https:// ticketsource.co.uk/ event/ 233468
