ACTIVITIES, games, films and great company are all on the agenda for Melksham Seniors’ regular club meetings in the coming weeks.
Once a month on the first Monday of the month, the Seniors meet at Forest Community Centre to enjoy a wide range of outdoor and indoor games and activities that not only help to improve health, but also plenty of laughs.
Due to the Bank Holiday weekend, May’s Monday club will take place on Monday 14th May at 1.30pm.
Every Thursday, the Melksham Seniors Activity & Social Club meet at the Riverside Club from 10.30am to 12.15pm. Chairman for the Seniors, Brain Warwick says, “People can look forward to a wide range of fun activities, interesting speakers, discussions and an ever new evolving range of healthy activities, all sure to put a smile on your face.
“Everyone, regardless of their age, background or level of ability should be provided with opportunities to live actively to their fullest potential.
“Keeping as active as possible is good for your mental wellbeing as well as your physical health, as it increases our social networks, helping to reduce the risk of us becoming lonely or isolated. So do come along and join us.”
Later in May, the Seniors will host their next film screening at the Assembly Hall. On Monday 21st May the club will be screening the heart-warming true story ‘Breathe’, starring Claire Foy and Andrew Garfield. The film is described as a ‘very funny film that will make you laugh and cry at the same time’. Doors open at 1.30pm.
