THIS month, the ArtHouse Café will be showcasing work by three friends from St Mary’s Art Group, Hilperton, and an artist from Trowbridge.
Friends Norma Braine, Pauline Peters and Sue Barratt, have been members of the art group for several years. All are amateur artists, with no formal training, who share a passion for painting, but produce work with their own individual style.
The fourth artist exhibiting this month is Ann Le Corre, whose artistic journey began at the age of seven when she won a painting competition at a local store in Trowbridge.
Like many others, art took second place when she left school and started work. On retirement, she did a part-time leisure art course at Trowbridge College, studying the styles and techniques of other artists, past and present. She lives in Trowbridge where the surrounding Wiltshire countryside is the inspiration for many of her paintings.
Throughout May all four artists will be exhibiting some of their work in the ArtHouse Café run by volunteers of Melksham Rotary Club.
20-25% of all sales of the trio’s artwork will go to the Rotary Club who have been raising money for international projects since taking over the Art House Cafe in 2011.
