MELKSHAM Library will be hosting events for people of all ages next month.
On Friday 1st June, children from age 3 to 11 are invited to take part in the free event ‘The Library Rocks!’ from 2.30pm until 3.30pm.
Community library manager, Karen Parkes says, “I’m sure any of you who have children and live in Melksham know about the rock decorating and hiding that’s going on around town, it seems to be causing much fun and lots of excitement!
“We are delighted to be able to host a rock art session. Rocks will be provided and you can let your imagination go wild with the decorating. The event is free, but places need to be booked by contacting the library on 01225 702039.”
Next up on Thursday 7th June, the library welcomes local studies librarian, Julie Davis, from the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre.
Karen says, “Julie will be talking to people to tell them how they can access Wiltshire’s maps at their fingertips, make their historic photos accessible online and also show them how to discover the free online research tool, which is putting heritage on the map. It’s a presentation and will be very interesting.
“There is a charge for this event, it will be £3/£2 concessions. Places can be booked by contacting the library on 01225 702039.”
